CA Supreme Court Deals Blow to Suction Dredging

The California Supreme Court issued their long awaited decision in the Rinehart case today. In a significant blow to suction dredging the court reversed the appeals court ruling and supported the State's argument environmental laws trump mining laws. The ruling now clears the way for the remaining legal challenges to the State's dredging laws to proceed in the San Bernardino Superior Court. The remaining legal challenges are carried by independent miner Keith Walker and the Western Mining Alliance.
